  • Introduction

The Strengths-Based Resilience (SBR) program was originally created to address the mental health needs of children and youth, but it is suitable for all people of all ages wanting to flourish in life. SBR is especially relevant to diverse cultural settings because each of the 14 modules offer useful suggestions to take into account the diverse cultural and learning needs of students.

Our goal in creating SBR was very focused. Rather than primarily targeting symptoms and stressors, we want you to tap into your strengths to build your resilience. We want to equip you with self-efficacy skills that apply your strengths to adapt to and recover from challenges, setbacks, and adversities.

We are grateful to the Ministry of Advanced Education & Skills Development for their generous award through their Mental Health Innovation Funds (MHIF) awarded to first author (Principal Investigator) and the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC).
